About OTC Community Outreach
OTC’s overall mission is to bring together athletes of all levels and provide a forum for interaction. Our goal is to establish a club that showcases all that Oakland has to offer, is dedicated to helping all members succeed, and is focused on making a positive impact within the community by promoting a healthy lifestyle and by supporting Oakland and the East Bay as we give back to the community. Our community outreach program takes the “giving back” to another level, allowing OTC members to set aside their skills in swimming, cycling, and running and, instead, use their professional skill sets in non-profits, fundraising, program development, and volunteer coordination.
We conduct outreach activities that utilize public input in order to align with the goals and values of the community. We ensure equal access and participation of all community stakeholders, including individuals from racially and ethnically diverse backgrounds, seniors, children, and members of under-served populations, creating mutually beneficial and responsive partnerships that enhance the social, economic and environmental well-being of individuals, organizations, and communities.
The main resource for Community Outreach news and information is our Community Outreach forum, where anyone can post about upcoming events, suggest new opportunities, or learn about partners and organizations with which OTC is working.
You can find opportunities to participate in OTC Community Outreach on the OTC Event Calendar, or post your own on our forum.
Angela Stockard is the Director of Community Outreach for the Oakland Triathlon Club. If you or your organization would like to partner with the club, or you have questions/suggestions, feel free to contact her directly.
