Training with Oakland Triathlon Club
We welcome triathletes of all levels and abilities! Our
Event Calendar has the details about upcoming training and events. You can register for most events directly through its calendar listing page.

Official Club Races
Each year OTC selects 3-4 triathlons as "official" club races. Our group training sessions build toward these target races, and they are the events where we will send the biggest groups of racers. The official club races for 2020 are:
May 9: IRONMAN Santa Rosa 70.3 (also a target cheer squad race!)
July 18-19: Donner Lake Triathlon
August 23: Oakland Triathlon Festival
September 27: Santa Cruz Triathlon
We only get to offer up free race entries and discount codes because of the volunteerism from our membership. We strongly encourage you to find a way to give back to the Club and the triathlon community through volunteering your time during the season. The official target volunteer events/races for 2020 are:
March 15: Livermore Half Marathon
May 3: Bay Bridge Half Marathon
June 6-7: Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon
August 8: Oaktown Half Marathon & 5K
August 23: Oakland Triathlon Festival
November 26: Oakland Turkey Trot
There will be other ad-hoc volunteer opportunities that we will share in the Club Forum, but the above-listed events are those that we have committed to support in 2020. Volunteers are awarded points for each act of kindness, and points mean prizes - so sign up and get in it to win big this year!
Official club races are denoted on the Event Calendar highlighted in bright red. You can let your teammates know which races you're attending by "registering" on its calendar listing page.

Other Races
We also have club members racing at many other events throughout the year. While we won't have a big club push for members to sign up for these events, we will list them on the Event Calendar highlighted in orange. By registering for these races on our club calendar, you can see which club members are planning to attend the event.

Group Workouts
Monday nights, OTC hosts
swim workouts at Mills College. Spots are limited, so register in advance on the Event Calendar. Email

Tuesday nights, OTC offers coached
track workouts at UC Berkeley's Edwards Stadium. Track workouts are on the event calendar

Saturday mornings are generally reserved for OTC
group rides. Most local rides leave from Sports Basement in Berkeley or from the Orinda BART parking lot. We are always looking for volunteers to plan and host new routes! You don't have to be the fastest rider to host a ride—just know the route and commit to showing up. Email

Sunday mornings, OTC plans Open Water Swims and runs. in various locations, mostly in the bay and both on the road and on trails for runs. Check the Event Calendar for details, and email
trainingforum@oaklandtriclub.com with any questions. Group OW Swims are on the Event Calendar
highlighted in blue.
Our Run lead will be in attendance for the swim to lead the run.
Forums
If the group workouts don't meet your training needs, you can create your own! Post on the Training Forum if you'd like to organize any additional or alternative group workouts.
